Notes:

1936-1942 and 1944-1949 called Class C (1943 divisions were arranged by geography and no third-tier championship playoff existed)

Until 1991 teams from all divisions competed for the State title but a Class C championship playoff existed in 1938-1949

No Class C from 1950-2004 (as divisions were arranged by geography and a third-tier championship playoff did not exist)

Division III existed in 2005 and 2006

Division III is now defunct

Numbers in parentheses are the number of championships that school won in this division
