Boys Soccer Postseason Formats

 

Division I, II, + III

  • All teams that earn 40% of the total possible points qualify for their respected division's postseason torunament
  • The division winners are seeded 1-3 in Division I and 1-2 in Division II and then all other qualifying teams are seeded based on point total
  • The playoff format will be different, depending on the number of teams that qualify. Here are the scenarios:
  • If 4 teams qualify:

    • No. 1 plays No. 4 and No. 2 plays No. 3

     

    If 5 teams qualify:

    • No. 1, No. 2, and No. 3 receive a bye and No. 4 plays No. 5 in the quarterfinals
    • In the semifinals No. 1 plays the winner of the 4/5 quarterfinal game and No. 2 plays No. 3

     

    If 6 teams qualify:

    • No. 1 and No. 2 receive a bye and No. 3 plays No. 6 and No. 4 plays No. 5 in the quarterfinals
    • In the semifinals No. 1 plays the winner of the 4/5 quarterfinal game and No. 2 plays the winner of the 3/6 quarterfinal

     

    If 7 teams qualify:

    • No. 1 receives a bye and No. 2 plays No. 7, No. 3 plays No. 6, and No. 4 plays No. 5 in the quarterfinals
    • In the semifinals No. 1 plays the winner of the 4/5 quarterfinal game and the winner of the 2/7 quarterfinal game faces the winner of the 3/6 quarterfinal game

     

    If 8 teams qualify:

    • In the quarterfinals No. 1 plays No. 8, No. 2 plays No. 7, No. 3 plays 6, and No. 4 plays No. 5
    • In the semifinals the winner of the 1/8 game faces the winner of the 4/5 game and the winner of the 2/7 game faces the winner of the 3/6 game

    If 9 teams qualify:

    • No. 8 plays No. 9 in a preliminary game
    • In the quarterfinals No. 1 plays the winner of the 8/9 game, No. 2 plays No. 7, No. 3 plays 6, and No. 4 plays No. 5
    • In the semifinals the winner of the 1/8/9 game faces the winner of the 4/5 game and the winner of the 2/7 game faces the winner of the 3/6 game

    If 10 teams qualify:

    • No. 7 plays No. 10 and No. 8 plays No. 9 in the preliminary round
    • In the quarterfinals No. 1 plays the winner of the 8/9 game, No. 2 plays the winner of the 7/10 game, No. 3 plays 6, and No. 4 plays No. 5
    • In the semifinals the winner of the 1/8/9 game faces the winner of the 4/5 game and the winner of the 2/7/10 game faces the winner of the 3/6 game

    If 11 teams qualify:

    • No. 6 plays No. 11, No. 7 plays No. 10 and No. 8 plays No. 9 in the preliminary round
    • In the quarterfinals No. 1 plays the winner of the 8/9 game, No. 2 plays the winner of the 7/10 game, No. 3 plays the winner of the 6/11 game and No. 4 plays No. 5
    • In the semifinals the winner of the 1/8/9 game faces the winner of the 4/5 game and the winner of the 2/7/10 game faces the winner of the 3/6/11 game

     

  • Finals are held on second weekend of November
