Boys Tennis Postseason Formats

 

Singles + Doubles

  • The following are held on a Friday in April: Two rounds of qualifying for the 32-player Singles Tournament (Top 16 ranked players in the State plays the 16 round 1 qualifying winners) and two rounds of qualifying for the 16-team Doubles Tournament
  • The following are held on the secnd to last Friday of May: Rounds 1 + 2 of 32-player Singles Tournament and the first round of the 16-team Doubles Tournament
  • The following are held on the Saturday: The quarterfinals and semifinals of the Singles Tournament and the quarterfinals and semifinals of the Doubles Tournament
  • Finals of the Singles and Doubles tournaments are held on the second to last Sunday of May

 

Division I, II

  • The top six teams in each division qualify for their division's respective postseason torunament (regardless of sub-division: i.e. four teams could qualify from II-North and just two from II-South)

  • In the quarterfinals No. 1 and No. 2 receive byes, No. 3 plays No. 6, and No. 4 plays No. 5

  • In the semifinals No. 1 plays the winner of the 4-5 quarterfinal match and No. 2 plays the winner of the 3-6 quarterfinal match
  • Finals are held during the last Saturday or Sunday of May

 

Division III

  • The top four teams in each division (III-North and III-South) qualify for the postseason torunament

  • In the quarterfinals 1N plays 4S, 1S plays 4N, 2N plays 3S, and 2S plays 3N

  • In the semifinals the 1N-4S winner plays the winner of the 2S-3N winner and the 1S-4N winner plays the winner of the 2N-3S winner
  • Finals are held during the last Saturday or Sunday of May

 

 

New England Championships

  • New England Championships are held on the second Friday of June (Singles and Doubles tournaments)
