Ice Hockey Postseason Format
- Top 8 teams, regardless of division, qualify for the postseason; Rankings are based off a quality points system in which victories over an Emma Division school accoutns for more points than a victory over a DeCosta Division team; Teams ranked 1-4 will play in the State championship tournament and teams ranked 5-8 will play in the Division I championship
State
- No. 1 plays No. 4 and No. 2 plays No. 3 in best of three series in
which the
winner must win two games (So
series could go longer than three games if there are ties)
- The two
semifinal winners face off the third weekend of March for the State championship in a best of three series in
which the
winner must win two games (So
series could go longer than three games if there are ties)
Division
I
- No. 5 plays No. 8 and No. 6 plays No. 7 in best of three series in
which the
