Dual-Meet State Championships

  • The twelve teams with the highest number of quality points qualify for the single-elimination tournament. Quality points are determined by the following:

    - Each victory over a team in Division I-A earns 4 points multiplied by the number of victories that defeated team has

    - Each victory over a team in Division I-B earns 3.5 points multiplied by the number of victories that defeated team has (for example if team A beats team B which is in I-A and has 10 victories, team A will garner 40 quality points for that one win)

    - Each victory over a team in Division II-A earns 3 points multiplied by the number of victories that defeated team has

    - Each victory over a team in Division II-B earns 2.5 points multiplied by the number of victories that defeated team has

    - Each victory over a team in Division II-C earns 2 points multiplied by the number of victories that defeated team has

    - Each victory over a team in Division II-D earns 1.5 points multiplied by the number of victories that defeated team has

  • Firsr round and Quarterfinals are held on the same day (Wednesday or Thursday of the week of February 7)
  • In the First round the top four teams (by quality points) are seeded 1-4 and receive byes. The other eight teams square off (5 vs. 9, 6 vs. 10, 7 vs. 11, and 8 vs. 12)
  • Quarterfinals: The teams with the first round byes face the winners of the first round match-up's (1 vs. 8-12 winner, 2 vs. 7-11 winner, 3 vs. 6-10 winner, 4 vs. 5-9 winner)
  • Semifinals (The four quarterfinal final winners square off (1-8-12 winner vs. 4-5-9 winner and 2-7-11 vs. 3-6-10 winner) and Finals (Two semifinals winners face off) are held on the Thursday of the week of February 14 February

 

Divisional II Sectional Championship

  • Division II Sectional Tournament is held on the third Saturday of February (individual 16 man tournaments for each weight class)
  • The team champion is the team gathering the most total points from all their individual wrestlers competing in each of the 14 weight class tournaments

 

State Championships

  • State Meet is held (16 man tournaments for each of the weight classes) on the Friday (preliminary and quarterfinal matches) and Saturday (semifinal and championships matches) after the Divisional II Sectionals (Fourth in February)
  • The team champion is the team gathering the most total points from all their individual wrestlers competing in each of the 14 weight class tournaments

 

New England Championships

  • New England Championships are held on the Friday and Saturday after the State Championships (first of March)
  • The team champion is the team gathering the most total points from all their individual wrestlers competing in each of the weight class tournaments
